Where Are the May Flowers?

After a rainy April, I was looking forward to some pretty weather in May.  We've had crazy weather with frosts and record highs in the same week.  Beautiful sunshiny weather and horrible gray days in the same week.  But all in all I'm still blessed above measure.  I've been setting up the inside dryer rack when the weather's been too bad to hang the clothes on the line so we're still seeing some savings!  YAY!

What A Change!

I was so excited to see that I would be able to hang my laundry out on the line today!  It was great to not have to use the stupid clothes dryer all day.  The convenience of the clothes line is something that most people don't take advantage of.  I love mine and we're already seeing savings by using it instead of the dryer.  I hang everything on it with the exception of our underclothes.  Apparently my husband and son don't care too much for the idea of their bloomers hanging out there for the world to see!  :)

Baby Shower!

I was invited to my former co-worker's baby shower at work today.  I put together a basket with baby mild unscented laundry detergent, all purpose stain remover, all purpose cleaner, and dry shampoo with some store bought items.  I think she liked it pretty well.  But the very BEST part of the day was when I got to come home...and they had to stay at work!  Ah, I'm so blessed to be a stay at home mom.  Now if this cleaner stuff would take off, I'd have it made!

Stormy Stormy Thursday!

Even though we spent most of the day freaking out over thunder and lightening, we still had an awesome day!  I grated a bar of Fels Naptha to make some powdered detergent and bottled 5 64 oz bottles of liquid laundry detergent.  I should be good for a while...

Silent Auction Basket #3!

I just finished the Doak Elementary Relay for Life's silent auction basket!  Usually I stick with a green color scheme but I just couldn't resist using some Bulldog blue!  I didn't have a blue sprayer in stock so I chose pink in honor of my mother, who is a breast cancer survivor!  What a great cause to donate to!

Crazy Weather!

Kinda disappointed today.  With it so cool and rainy, I can't hang my laundry on the line.  What usually takes only half a day will have to take the whole one since I have to factor in drying time in the dryer instead of being able to just hang them all out on the line at once.  Oh well, at least I'm fortunate enough to have a clothes dryer!  This is the day the Lord has made.  I will rejoice and be glad in it!  :)

Silent Auction Basket #2

This basket is for the Debusk Elementary School PTO silent auction... It's smaller than the other basket but still just as cool!  This one has a value of $15 and includes liquid and powder laundry detergent, liquid dish soap, powdered dishwasher detergent, and all-purpose cleaner!  All are things that I use each and every day!  WOOHOO!

Another One To Make!

I just signed on with Limestone Volunteer Fire Dept to make a basket for their silent auction too!  I'm so excited to be helping people AND getting my name and products out there too!  What a blessing!  The plan for today is to get the baskets for Doak Relay for Life Silent Auction and Debusk PTO Silent Auction finished and ready for drop off!  Praying to see business pick up some after people get their baskets home and see how awesome the products are!

Silent Auction Basket #1!

I have recently volunteered to donate baskets of my home made cleaners to what I feel to be very worthy causes... I just finished up on the first basket.  It's for the silent auction fundraiser for a little girl who went to daycare with my son.  She has Chiari Malformation Syringomyelia (don't ask, I have no idea what it is) and her parents need some help alleviating the financial burden from her brain decompression surgery she recently underwent.  It is my most earnest prayer that this basket helps with this burden.  I would not want to imagine the strain it would put on our family.

But on to the basket...I filled an adorable green tub with a jar of liquid laundry detergent, a jar of powdered laundry detergent, a spray bottle of all-purpose cleaner, a spray bottle of wrinkle releaser, a container of liquid dish soap, a container of powdered dishwasher detergent, and a 100 use dryer sheet.  That's a $25 value!  I hope whoever ends up with it LOVES it!  I sure did enjoy making the products and putting it all together!

What A Life I Have!

If you had told me a few years ago that I would be a semi-"green" SAHM who made her own stuff, I'd have laughed in your face.  Truth is that I love it!  My kids are so cool!  It's been so great to really get to know them and not see them through the notes that the daycare and school sent home.  I am so thankful for them and the opportunity to be able to stay home with them.  YAY!
